3. September 15, TheCarConnection.com – (International) 1.9 million Jeep, Dodge, and Chrysler vehicles recalled for airbag problem. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles issued a recall September 15 for 1.4 million of its model years 2010 – 2014 vehicles in select makes equipped with specific front impact sensors and occupant restraint control modules sold in the U.S. due to a problem affecting the vehicles’ airbags and seatbelts where the airbags and seatbelt pretensioners may not deploy in the event of a crash, thereby increasing the risk of injury. The recall also affects 142,959 vehicles sold in Canada, 81,901 in Mexico, and 284,051 elsewhere. 14. September 15, WVTM 13 Birmingham– (Alabama) Diapers, rags blamed for sewage pump blockage. Crews worked for nearly 2 hours September 14 to clear a blockage in a sewage pump that caused between 10,000 and 100,000 gallons of sewage to spill into Black Warrior River in Northport, Alabama. • Officials from University Gastroenterology (UGI) in Rhode Island announced September 15 that about 14,000 patients’ personal information may have been compromised after a July 2016 data breach. – WJAR 10 Providence

Officials from University Gastroenterology (UGI) in Rhode Island announced September 15 that about 14,000 patients’ personal information, including names, birth dates, and Social Security numbers may have been compromised after a July 2016 data breach where an attacker hacked UGI’s computer system and encrypted a file containing the information. 5. September 15, U.S. Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Pennsylvania – (National) New York man convicted in federal court for his role in counterfeit gift card shopping spree. A Queens, New York resident was convicted September 14 of Federal charges after authorities discovered over 100 counterfeit Visa gift cards with the account numbers of customers from dozens of banks nationwide in his and co-conspirators’ possession in 2014. Officials stated the group attempted to or made purchases at more than 6 Pennsylvania stores using the fraudulent cards. 21. September 15, WBAY 2 Green Bay; WKOW 27 Madison; WISN 12 Milwaukee – (Wisconsin) Two arrested in connection to credit card skimmer ring. Two Florida residents were arrested at an Open Pantry gas station in Brookfield, Wisconsin, September 14 for their roles in a credit card skimming scheme where the group allegedly installed internal skimming devices on about 15 pumps at gas stations across Wisconsin since August after the duo stole a master key to the pumps. 22. September 14, New York Daily News – (New York) Stolen credit card info used for $400G in purchases at Bloomingdale’s, three arrested including employee. A former employee at Bloomingdale’s in New York and 2 co-conspirators were charged September 14 after the trio allegedly stole customers’ credit card information and made at least 40 fraudulent purchases at the department store totaling $400,000. 20. September 15, SecurityWeek – (International) SAP patches serious flaws in database management product. SAP released a security update resolving 19 vulnerabilities, including a denial-of-service (DoS) flaw in Business Objects BI Launchpad, information disclosure bugs, cross-site scripting (XSS) issues, and Structured Query Language (SQL) injection issues that could allow an attacker to create and execute a stored procedure with SQL commands, thereby enabling the attacker to elevate their privileges, modify database objects, or execute commands without authorization. 19. September 15, KREM 2 Spokane – (Washington) Spokane Co. radio dispatch goes down for several hours. Authorities are investigating the cause of a radio dispatch system outage that left emergency crews in Spokane County, Washington, unable to communicate with each other for about 3 hours September 15. Officials rebooted the system and stated 9-1-1 calls at the dispatch center were not affected during the outage.
