suspect’s home before terror spree. Seven people were killed, including the
gunman, and 13 others were injured after a California gunman stabbed 3 people
to death at his apartment complex before shooting 3 others to death in Isla
Vista near the University of California, Santa Barbara May 23. The gunman shot
two people at a sorority house before driving around targeting others in the
area while officers were pursuing his vehicle, which eventually crashed, with
investigators finding the suspect dead with a gunshot wound to the head.

with Trusteer identified a new piece of malware targeting financial
institutions dubbed Zberp which combines the code and features of the Zeus
malware and Carberp trojan. The malware is capable of several different
information-stealing attacks and can use various methods to avoid detection.

(International) Researchers find large global botnet of infected PoS
systems. IntelCrawler researchers discovered a botnet known as Nemanja that
has infected around 1,500 point-of-sale (PoS) terminals, accounting systems,
and other retail systems in the U.S. and several other countries. The malware
behind the botnet is able to collect payment card information and contains a

WordPress via open WiFi or your blog could get hijacked. A researcher with
the Electronic Frontier Foundation identified and reported an issue with the
login process for WordPress sites where a browser cookie is sent in plain text,
potentially allowing an attacker to use the cookie to gain access to the
corresponding WordPress site. WordPress stated that a fix for the vulnerability
