(Illinois) Fire leaves four children dead, two adults critical. An
extra-alarm fire September 8 in an 18-unit building on the Far South Side of
Chicago left 4 children dead and 2 adults in critical condition after the fire
started on the second floor. About 50 residents were displaced and the cause of
the fire is under investigation after records found the building failed several

6, Richmond Times-Dispatch – (International) Fredericksburg man
accused of mail and wire fraud. A Fredericksburg, Virginia man was charged
in a complaint September 5 with allegedly making fraudulent investment
offerings to investors in several countries in order to obtain over $35 million
in investments purported to be part of the Quantico Corporate Center project.
The man allegedly used the funds for several other purposes including diverting

malware variants. F-Secure released its Threat Report H1 2014 which found
that 25 new malware variants targeting Apple OS X systems were observed in the
first half of the year. Several variants were observed being used in targeted

malicious Chrome extension. TrendMicro researchers identified a social
engineering campaign that uses malicious shortened Twitter links to lead
victims to a malicious Chrome browser extension used in a click fraud campaign.
The malicious extension circumvents Google’s security policy against non-Chrome
Web Store apps by creating a folder in the browser directory where it then
