The Braemar Village Plaza was evacuated July 11 and foam trucks from Fairfax and Dulles International Airport were called to aid in cleanup after a tanker with an 8,500 gallon gas load flipped on its side as the driver turned into the shopping center. Fuel was believed to have entered Broad Run, prompting fire officials to ask the operators to close the gates at the Lake Manassas Dam to prevent tainted water from further spreading. Patients admitted to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth between 1980 and 1990 were notified after the hospital discovered a portion of a microfiche that contained the patient’s personal information and was meant to be destroyed by its paper-shredding vendor, Shred-It, was found in a park. Researchers reported finding a vulnerability in Android that can allow an attacker to modify Android apps without altering cryptographic signatures in APK files under 64KB in size, similar to a recent vulnerability reported by Bluebox Security that works on larger files. 34. July 11, WCAX 3 Burlington – (New York) Mountain Lake PBS still fixing lightning damage. Officials reported that while cable and satellite services were restored to nearly all Mountain Lake PBS customers, off-air viewers in the Plattsburgh area were likely to remain without service for a couple more weeks. Flood damage and a nearly inaccessible road delayed repairs to the transformers at the Lyon Mountain transmitter station after June storms set the transformers on fire.
