Total Petrochemical USA, Inc. will pay $8.75 million for failing to comply to the terms of a 2007 settlement with the U.S. that resolved alleged violations of the Clean Air Act at its Port Arthur, Texas refinery. The company violated a number of requirements of the settlement between 2007 and 2011 and did not perform corrective actions to analyze the cause of over 70 incidents.
