pleads guilty to destroying evidence. The U.S. Department of Justice
announced July 25 that Halliburton Energy Services agreed to plead guilty to
destroying evidence in connection with the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill that
killed 11 workers and spilled millions of gallons of oil into the Gulf. The
company agreed to pay the maximum fine, be on probation for 3 years, and

two more patients died from Legionnaires’ disease, bringing the total deaths to
4 and those sickened to 35. Preliminary results from testing showed the
bacteria in more than one location at the facility, but health officials are
