1. July 21, USA Today – (National) 308,000 Chevrolet Impalas recalled for faulty airbags. General Motors issued a recall July 21 for nearly 308,000 of its model years 2009 – 2010 Chevrolet Impala vehicles sold in the U.S. due to potentially faulty wiring that could prevent the vehicle from detecting when the passenger seat is occupied, thereby preventing the passenger air bags from inflating in the event of a crash. • Mitsubishi Motors Corporation issued a recall July 21 for 174,382 of its model years 2002 – 2013 vehicles in select makes sold in the U.S. due to a corrosion problem affecting the front lower control arms that can cause the driver to lose control of the vehicle. – TheCarConnection.com

3. July 21, TheCarConnection.com – (National) Mitsubishi Lancer, Lancer Evolution, Outlander recalled for corrosion. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation issued a recall July 21 for 174,382 of its model years 2002 – 2013 vehicles in select makes sold in the U.S. due to a corrosion problem affecting the front lower control arms that can cause the arms to detach, thereby causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.

6. July 22, WPBF 25 Tequesta – (Florida) 24 passengers taken to hospital following American Airlines evacuation. Passengers on American Airlines flight 1822 en route to Philadelphia from West Palm Beach, Florida were forced to make an emergency evacuation at Palm Beach International Airport July 21 due to a hydraulic fluid leak that caused a burning odor in the cabin. 14. July 21, SecurityWeek – (International) Persistent XSS patched in WooCommerce WordPress plugin. WooCommerce released version 2.6.3 of its ecommerce plugin for WordPress addressing a persistent cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability after a researcher from Securify discovered an attacker could exploit the flaw to steal session tokens or a victim’s login credentials by creating a special image file containing malicious JavaScript code in the metadata that injects the code into a targeted Website when an administrator uploads the malicious image as a product image or gallery item.
