Associated Press – (National) General Motors, Subaru models added
to Takata recall list. General Motors expanded a recall to include 375,000
model year 2007 – 2008 GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado vehicles, and Subaru
issued a recall for 60,000 model year 2004 – 2005 Impreza, and Saab 9-2x
vehicles, due to ongoing issues with airbag inflators made by the Takata

ABC News – (California) Undercover DHS tests find security
failures at U.S. airports. An internal investigation of the Transportation
Security Administration (TSA) by DHS’ Office of Inspector General found that
TSA agents failed 67 of 70 tests after undercover agents successfully smuggled
mock explosives or weapons through checkpoints in 95 percent of the trials. The
U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security directed TSA to implement a series of

Warren County police reported June 1 that two inmates escaped the Warren County
Jail in Iowa, are considered dangerous, and were last seen heading north. – WHO

18. June 1, WHO 13 Des Moines – (Iowa) Two
inmates escape from Warren County Jail, believed to be headed to Des Moines. Warren
County Police reported June 1 that two inmates escaped from the Warren County
Jail after manipulating a locking mechanism and left the holding area through a
stairway. Officials stated that both prisoners are dangerous and were last seen

KING 5 Seattle – (Washington) Thousands targeted by credit card skimmer in
Seatac. Seatac authorities arrested a man during the week of May 18 for
allegedly paying employees at Doug Fox Parking and Shuttle Park 2 in Seatac to
skim over 17,000 customer card numbers from 2013 – 2014, resulting in over

South Florida Business Journal – (National) Man indicted for
$50M mortgage fraud involving Miami-Dade homes. Authorities indicted a
Guyanese national May 28 for his role in a $50 million mortgage fraud scheme in
which he and co-conspirators allegedly recruited and paid straw buyers to
obtain fraudulent loan applications in order to buy properties from distressed

Reuters – (International) U.S. sports exec pleads not guilty in FIFA
case. The U.S. head of the Brazilian sports marketing company Traffic Group
pleaded not guilty May 29 to allegations that he secured media and marketing
contracts worth over $35 million and arranged bribes for the vice president of
the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA). Thirteen other

vulnerability could allow firmware modifications, researcher says. A
security researcher discovered a vulnerability in the firmware of Apple
computers made before mid-2014 in which an attacker could tamper with the
system’s unified extensible firmware interface (UEFI) and install a rootkit by
exploiting a flaw that unlocks UEFI code when a computer goes to sleep and

coat patches SSL visibility appliance against 4 security bugs. Carnegie
Mellon University’s Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) released an
advisory warning of cross-site request forgery (CSRF), same-origin policy
failure, and other flaws in Blue Coat’s Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Visibility
appliance in which a remote attacker could assume legitimate users’ identities
and execute actions on their behalf. The company released a patch mitigating the
