storm with strong winds that moved through McPherson and Dickinson counties May
7 derailed 33 cars of a Union Pacific train, damaged about 800 feet of track,

Prevention stated that a 23-State outbreak of two strains of Salmonella is
linked to contact with live poultry from Mt. Healthy Hatcheries in Ohio. Sixty

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stated that a 23-State outbreak
of Salmonella Infantis and Salmonella Newport is linked to contact with live
poultry from Mt. Healthy Hatcheries in Ohio, a mail order hatchery linked to
Salmonella outbreaks in 2012 and 2013. Sixty people were sickened by the recent
outbreak, including at least 10 individuals that were hospitalized, with the

of a Blakely, Georgia Peanut Corporation of America plant pleaded guilty May 7
in connection with a 2009 Salmonella outbreak traced to the company’s peanuts
that killed nine people and sickened hundreds. The man and three others are

$4 million fraud. The former chief executive, chief financial officer, and
attorney for the failed Coastal Community Bank were convicted in court in
Panama City May 7 for defrauding the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation
(FDIC) of $3.75 million from its Temporary Liquidity Guarantee Program. The

by U.S., agrees to fine. American International Group Inc., (AIG) agreed to
pay a $279,038 fine as part of a settlement with the U.S. Department of the

against risks and selling travel coverage to Canadians taking trips to the

Heartbleed OpenSSL bug. The Industrial Control Systems Computer Emergency
Response Team (ICS-CERT) issued an advisory May 8 alerting users that five Digi
wireless Web mesh gateways used in industrial control systems and home networks
are vulnerable to the Heartbleed bug in OpenSSL. The vulnerability could allow

developer WooThemes report credit card fraud. WordPress themes developer
WooThemes reported that it is aware of around 300 instances of fraudulent
payment card activity involving its customers and was investigating a possible

charges, will be monitored for 20 years. Snapchat entered into an agreement
with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) May 8 to settle charges that the
company had misrepresented the privacy of its messaging app by claiming that
messages are deleted completely after a set amount of time. The agreement
prohibits Snapchat from misrepresenting the extent of users’ data privacy and
security, and will require the company to be monitored by a third-party privacy

(Michigan) 911 service restored in Ionia County. Ionia County Central
Dispatch reported a 9-1-1 and phone outage affecting a number of area codes in
the Lake Odessa and Clarksville areas May 8 due to a cut fiber optic cable.
