TheCarConnection.com – (National) 2006 – 2012 Kia Sedona recalled for corrosion
troubles – again. Kia Motors Corporation issued a recall June 17 for 97,884
of its model years 2006 – 2012 Sedona minivan vehicles sold in the U.S. due to
a corrosion problem affecting the vehicles’ suspension where the front lower
control arms may be susceptible to corrosion from saltwater used to de-ice
roadways that can lead to road noise and vibration, and potentially cause the
arms to break, thereby making it difficult or impossible to control the
vehicle. The vehicles were sold or registered in 27 States and Washington, D.C.

• A Colombian citizen was arrested in Florida June 16 after he
allegedly installed 10 skimming devices at Chase Bank branch ATMs in order to

South Florida Sun-Sentinel – (Florida) Man arrested in Boca Raton stole
more than $89K using ATM skimmers, police say. A Colombian citizen was
arrested in Boca Raton, Florida, June 16 after he allegedly installed 10
skimming devices at Chase Bank branch ATMs in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm
Beach counties in order to steal the credit or debit card information of over
300 ATM customers and skim at least $85,000 from the victims’ accounts. The man
was arrested when a Chase Bank investigator witnessed the man installing a

card fraud. Groton Police arrested a man June 16 after he and a
co-conspirator allegedly stole over $300,000 in a multi-state credit card fraud
scheme that targeted stores throughout the northeast. Authorities are searching

Softpedia – (International) Losses from business email scams reach a
whopping $3 billion. The FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3)
reported that global Business Email Compromise (BEC) scams and campaigns were
increasing with companies losing over $3 billion in global scams and over $960
million in U.S-targeted scams from October 2013 – May 2016. Many targeted
companies stated that the fraudulent actions occurred by hacking into the chief

Minden Press-Herald – (Louisiana; Texas) Copper theft leads to two arrests. The
Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of two individuals June 17
in connection to an alleged spree where the pair stole copper wire from at
least four cell phone tower sites in Louisiana, causing up to $40,000 in damage
